This emulator is a permanent solution developed for the Electronic Steering Lock (ELV/ESL) failure in Volvo vehicles built on SPA and CMA platforms (2015–2019) such as S90, V90, XC90, XC60, V60, XC40.

This common issue may cause the vehicle not to crank or the ignition not to respond.

The official service solution requires replacing the steering lock unit, which is costly and requires complex online programming. This emulator is designed to permanently bypass the faulty mechanical lock system.

No Programming Required (Plug & Play)

This emulator does not require coding or programming (unlike Mercedes W204 ESL emulators).
Once installed, it directly sends a “steering lock OK” signal, making it a true plug & play solution.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the faulty original ESCL unit connector.
3. IMPORTANT: If the steering lock is stuck in the locked position, remove the mechanical lock first.
4. Connect the emulator to the vehicle’s original socket.
5. Connect a professional diagnostic tool.
6. Access the CEM module (or related system) and clear all steering lock fault codes.
7. Start the vehicle.

LED Status Indicators

• GREEN LIGHT (Solid):
  Successful. Emulator is in unlocked state, vehicle is ready to start.
• RED LIGHT (Solid):
  Emulator is in locked state (normal when ignition is off).
• RED LIGHT (Flashing):
  Error. Fault codes in the CEM module are not cleared yet.
  → Connect a diagnostic tool and reset the errors.
